Of All The Temple Remains In Egypt, The Temple Of Horus At Edfu Is The Most Completely Preserved. Built From Sandstone Blocks, The Huge  Temple Was Constructed Over The Site Of A Smaller, Earlier, Temple, Oriented East To West, Facing Towards The River. The Later Structure Faces North To South And Leaves The Ruined Remains Of The Older Temple Pylon To Be Seen On The East Side Of The First Courtyard. Alternatively, You May Decide To Enjoy The Hustle And Bustle Of The Bazaars Where You Can Barter For Souvenirs, Spices And Perfumes.  Dinner Tonight Will Be A Barbecue At  El Fouz Island, Where Lara Will Moor Overnight.

Day 03:
After Breakfast,  Lara Will Set Sail For Gebel El Silsila Where We Will Moor For Lunch. Gebel El-Silsila Is 40 Miles North Of Aswan Along The Banks Of The Nile And Was A Very Famous Quarrying Area Throughout All Of Ancient Egypt Due To The Quality Of The Building Stone Quarried Here. The Site Is A Rich Archaeological Area Having Temples Cut Directly On The Hills. After Lunch, There Will Be Time For You To Explore This Site Together With Our English Speaking Tour Guide. This Evening, Dinner Will Be Served Under The Stars And The Backdrop Of This Beautiful Illuminated Temple.

Day 04:
Early Morning  Sail For Kom Ombo; In Ancient Times, Kom Ombo Stood On An Important Crossroads Between The Caravan Route From Nubia And Trails From The Gold Mines In The Eastern Desert.
The Temple At Kom Ombo Was Also Built During 180-145 BCE, Under Ptolemy VI. Since This Bend In The Nile Was A Favored Spot For Crocodiles To Bask In The Sun And Threaten Locals, It Is Natural That The Temple Would Be Dedicated To Sobek, The Crocodile God. But It Is Unusual In Having A Double Dedication: It Also Honors Haroeris, A Form Of The Falcon-Headed God Horus.
The Hypostyle Halls Were Added Under Ptolemy XIII (51-47 BC), And The Roman Emperor Trajan (53-117 AD) Added The Forecourt And Outer Enclosure Walls.
This Evening We Will Moor For The Night At A Nearby Small Island Where Dinner Will Be Served On Board.

Day 05:
Set  Sail For Aswan And Philae Temple Which Was Dismantled And Reassembled (On Agilika Island About 550 Meters From Its Original Home On Philae Island) In The Wake Of The Aswan High Dam. The Temple, Dedicated To The Goddess Isis, Is In A Beautiful Setting Which Has Been Landscaped To Match Its Original Site. It's Various Shrines And Sanctuaries, Which Include The Vestibule Of Nectanebos I Which Is Used As The Entrance To The Island, The Temple Of The Emperor Hadrian, A Temple Of Hathor, Trajan's Kiosk (Pharaohs Bed), A Birth House And Two Pylons Celebrate All The Deities Involved In The Isis And Osiris Myth.
Although Antiquities On The Island Date Between The 26th Dynasty And The Roman Period, Most Of The Work Is From That Of The Roman. This Was A Time Of Immense Popularity Of The Goddess Isis, And This Was Her Island, Where Pilgrims Would Come From All Over The Mediterranean. Construction On The Island Took Place Over An 800 Year Span, And It Was One Of The Last Strongholds Of The Ancient Egyptian Religion Which Continued To Flourish Here Into The 6th Century AD. When The Temples Where Finally Closed By Justinian In A.D 550, It Ended 4,000 Years Of Continuous Worship Of The Pagan Gods.
The Victorian World Fell In Love With The Romance Of The Temple. But At Night You Can Also Visit The Sound And Light Show, A Magical Experience As Floodlit Buildings Are Silhouetted Against The Volcanic Rocks And Water Surrounding Them. So Today, Philae Is More Fun Than Ever Before!

Day 06:
You Are In Aswan Where You Can Enjoy A Full Day At Your Leisure.
Aswan, Egypt's Sunniest Southern City And Ancient Frontier Town, Is Located About 81 Miles South Of Luxor, And Has A Distinctively African Atmosphere.  Small Enough To Walk Around And Graced With The Most Beautiful Setting On The Nile, The Pace Of Life Is Slow And Relaxing. Days Can Be Spent Strolling Up And Down The Broad Corniche Watching The Sailboats Etch The Sky With Their Tall Masts Or Sitting In Floating Restaurants Listening To Nubian Music And Eating Freshly Caught Fish.
In Aswan The Nile Is At Its Most Beautiful, Flowing Through Amber Desert And Granite Rocks, Round Emerald Islands Covered In Palm Groves And Tropical Plants. Explore The Souk, Full Of The Scent And Color Of Spices, Perfumes, Scarves And Baskets. View The Spectacular Sunsets While Having Tea On The Terrace Of The Old Cataract Hotel (Named Due To The Location Of The Nile's First Cataract Located Here). Aswan Has Been A Favorite Winter Resort Since The Beginning Of The Nineteenth Century, And It's Still A Perfect Place To Get Away From It All.
Every Night Nubian Dancers And Musicians Perform In The Cultural Center, Just Off The Corniche. Folklore Troupes Recreate Scenes From Village Life And Perform The Famous Nubian Mock Stick-Fight Dances.
Whilst Moored In Aswan, Lunch Will Be Served On Board, And In The Early Evening You Can Enjoy Our Farewell Dinner And Explore Aswan By Night.

Day 07:
